The South Cerney Project

The project we are working on at the moment is at South Cerney, in the heart of the Cotswolds. We started on 17th December 2012 and we are working to a tight schedule, with just two and a half weeks to complete (and this is including the Christmas and New Year break!). We have until the 4th January 2013 to complete the 3 show home gardens, both front and rear. A large open area about the size of a football pitch, which is to be turfed and planted with trees and the area around the marketing suite and car parking area which is to include a decked area.

We started with a team of 5 on this project but increased this to 12 just before the holidays to give us a fighting chance of reaching the completion deadline.

The weather has been variable, but mostly wet (you would think we would be used to this by now).

On return from the Christmas break and with everything starting to take shape we have dropped the man power back to 5 and we are confident we will achieve our goal.

We started by marking out the decking area to the rear of the marketing suite and then set about the laying of the framework. Great care needs to be taken at this stage; we have to make sure that the frame is level.

As you can see the next stage was to lay the decking boards and set the posts for the hand rails.

These two pictures show how we have started to plant out around the car parking area.

You can see in the second picture the decking with hand rails fitted.

These pictures are of the area at the front of the marketing suite. In the first picture we had just started with the planting. the houses in the background are the show homes whose gardens we will be working on soon. In the second picture although it is still work in progress things are really taking shape , with a general tidy up and some finishing touches it will look great.

This is the large open area, it is opposite the marketing suite. This area is about the size of a football pitch and it all needs to be turfed and planted.

Here the turfs are being laid in conditions which are not the most favorable, but we must press on.

Here are a couple of pictures showing the rear gardens of two of the show homes, plots 130 and 131. As you can see there is a beautiful panoramic view of the lake. To be honest all we can see right now is mud and more mud.

Just watch this space to see the transformation.
