Tavistock, Shaded Garden

Tav sh 1

We were asked by our clients for a solution to the problem they were having with a shaded area of their garden. This area had a shadow cast over it by the walls of the property, and due to the direction of the sun this garden lacked natural sunlight, this meant that the turf had not faired very well in these conditions.

This private garden in Bristol was both started and completed this week. We were asked by our clients to extend the existing patio with an additional pathway laid to the left hand side. They also wanted us to lay a new lawn.

Tavistock

We were asked to visit a site in Tavistock where they were having a problem with water logging, this was caused by the heavy clay soil. Due to the consistency of the soil, it was decided the best solution to the problem would be to construct a French drain to help to disperse the water. There are 5 or 6 gardens that are suffering with the same problem; although not all to the same extent. We started on this garden on 16/04/13.

Once again we were asked to create some planters which would incorporate some steps to the entrance of the temporary marketing suite. The objective was to make the structure more welcoming to visitors and add a splash of  colour to an otherwise bland area.

Tips for April

This month is going to be a case of carrying on with the general tidying and preparation as described for last month. The  best attitude to adopt towards the weather we are getting thrown at us at the  moment is to take the opportunity to have a good tidy up and plan for the months ahead. This is something we can help with at  Create Landscaping Ltd, we can jet wash path's, patio's, decking etc to give them a new lease of life.

Rushden Garden

This garden needed to be completely cleared of all the overgrown plants, shrubs and bushes. The grass and borders also needed to be removed. Once this was done we were able to set about levelling the ground and laying a good quality weed suppressant, before the delivery of the gravel. The gravel was then laid evenly to the required depth.

Planters

We were asked to create a pair of planters.  The customer is very pleased with these.  We planted with evergreens to ensure that there is always something to look at in the planters, then added colour with seasonal plants which can be changed as the seasons change to keep colour and interest going throughout the year.

And we're off.... There was a slight delay with the start of this job. We should have started on Monday 11th (today is Wednesday 13th). We have started with a team of 5 and will increase the work force to 8 tomorrow. As you can see we are making good progress; the boulders are in place in the rear gardens and the construction of the decking is underway.
